The Department of Fish Genetics and Breeding aims to undertake a breeding program for indigenous fish species of food and ornamental value. There is one laboratory in the department which is equipped with the following instruments Microscope, Magnetic stirrer, Micro-wave oven, Deep Freezer (-20˚C) each of Cap. 500 L and 300 L, Tissue homogenizer, Water bath, Weighing balance, Vortex shaker, Micro-pipette set, UVC disinfection system etc.
