Students Award (Oral presentation award during 3rd Student Convention, 2019)
Ms. Shreya Jeet Shruti, B.F.Sc. 1st year, 2nd semester student of College of Fisheries, Kishanganj got 3rd best oral presentation award among 350 students of 25 different Fisheries Colleges of India during 3rd Student Convention on Next Generation Aquaculture: Panacea to Employment Challenges which was held during 25 26th March, 2019 at Central Institute of Fisheries Education (ICAR CIFE), Mumbai. The title of her presentation was “Three concepts for innovative, energy efficient and environmental friendly technology for sustainable aquaculture” under the section Innovative concepts for sustainable Aquaculture.
A total of five students from COF, Kishanganj namely Ms. Anwari Fatma, Ms. Shreya Jeet Shruti, Mr. Sunny Kumar, Mr. Shwetank Kumar and Mr. Sonu Kumar Mishra along with one Faculty (Mr. Ravi Shankar Kumar) as team leader participated in the convention. Apart from individual effort, the team also performed well in smart interaction session and got 4th position. Our students also performed in cultural event organised during the convention.
Participation of Students in First Inter College Culture & Literary Competition:
A newly established college with only 28 students of first batch performed well and got prize in several categories like Group song, Group dance, Skit, Solo song, stand –up etc in the Inter College Culture & Literary Competition held during 12-13 November, 2019 at BASU, Patna.
Participation of Students in First Inter College Sports Meet:
Students participated in sports meet and won seven medals (1 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze) which was held during 7-9 Dec, 2019 at BASU, Patna.
Champion of 4th National Students Convention:
The students of the College of Fisheries, Kishanganj have bagged the Overall Championship award during the 4th National Students Convention “CIFESTONE-2023” held at ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai from 20-22nd March, 2023. The College secured the first rank among all the 30 participating Fisheries Colleges in the country. A total of nine students participated in this event out of which two students namely Ms. Pragati Pushp & Mr. Abhinav Sudhanshu secured first position in the Innovative Idea Presentation competition and Ms. Kopal Karishma bagged first position in the Next-Gen Teaching Competition. Team was mentored and guided by Mr. Tapas Paul.
Participation in India International Sciences Festival-2023:
Ms. Pujjawala Kumari & Ms. Shipra Singh, B.F.Sc. 3rd year students were selected among the top 100 students from the entire country in Innovative Idea presentation and represented COF, Kishanganj at India International Science Festival-2023 at Bhopal. Students have developed prototype on “Plastic Preying Device”. Students were mentored by Mr. Tapas Paul and Mr. Ashutosh Kr. Singh.
XXIth All India Inter Agricultural Universities Sports:
During 3rd Inter-college Sports meet at BASU, a total of 40 students from the college of Fisheries, Kishanganj participated. The major achievement of the college was to bag the Best Athlete award by Ms. Varsha Kumari in the girl’s category along with other medals during the event under different categories like 100 & 200-meter races, long jump, Badminton, Table Tennis, and Kabbadi. The 13 winner students of this event represented the university at the XXIth All India Inter Agricultural Universities Sports and Games meet 2022-23 held at CCS Haryana Agricultural University from 20th to 24th Feb 2023.
Student Awards for the year 2022:
Mr. Haridarshan Thakur of B.F.Sc. 2018 Batch received the PFGF-Best Fisheries graduate of India award for the year 2022. Mr. Prajjwal Kumar of 2018 Batch received Dr. Received Prof. J. R. Dhanze Memorial Best Fisheries Graduate Award-2022. Ms. Sneha Kumari received 3rd Prize during National Student Innovation Competition Ms. Pujjwala Kumari received 3rd price in healthy fish receipe competiton during RASHI-2022.
COF Students Shine at National Idea Contest-2023:
Ms. Pragati Pushp and Mr. Manish Kumar, students from College of Fisheries, Kishanganj selected among top 25 entries in National Idea Contest “Lifting LIFE” organized by BOBP-IGO and NFDB, Hyderabad. They were invited to present their ideas in the International Conclave on “Mainstreaming Climate Change into International Fisheries Governance and Strengthening of Fisheries Management Measures in the Indo-Pacific Region” at Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu from 16-19th October, 2023. Mr. Tapas Paul, Assitant professor and In-charge of, Placement Cell accompanied the students as Mentor. During the conclave, students interacted with experts from National & International organizations and received appreciation for their innovative ideas.
Outstanding performance in National Competitive Exams AIEEA-PG 2023:
17 students of B. F. Sc. final years students once again brought the honor to the Institutiona and state by achieving success in the national competitive examination. The college has achieved remarkable success and has set a benchmark in this region, with 17 out of the total 25 students who graduated this year excelled in the All-India Competitive Exam for PG admission (ICAR-AIEEA) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
